Triad CUSD 2
Elementary Computer Teacher
Troy, IL
I have been a teacher for the last 10 years. I have always had a passion for STEM education, and recently I became the elementary computer science teacher for our whole district. This program is fairly unique for our area, so I’ve had to do a lot of research in order to produce a program that my students enjoy and that is truly helping them build computer science fundamental skills. Through my research, and implementation in my own classroom, I’ve found some fantastic resources that help both my students as well as my own children get excited about computer science concepts. The interest in the comp sci program in my district continues to grow, and I would love the opportunity for others who would either like to incorporate programming into their own classroom or start a school wide program. I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am also a Google Certified Educator and Ozobot Certified Educator. Most importantly, I am a mother of three boys and life long learner.
