Stan Gorbatkin continues to support innovation in public education after retiring with 34 years of Illinois Public School Service, including 30 years in IPSD 204. Stan served as a Teacher, Asst. Principal, and Principal before joining the IPSD 204 District-level administrative team. He served on the Superintendent’s Cabinet as Director and Assistant Superintendent and led the technology strategic planning process from 2010-2018.Stan has been a presenter/panelist at several events on the topics of Technology Visioning and Planning and Leadership Development. Recent events included ISTE (2018, 2019) , CoSN (2017), Illinois Computing Educators (2017, 2018, 2019), EdSurge (2017-2019), Illinois Association of School Administrations (2016), Illinois Educational Technology Leaders (2015) along with several other local events. In addition, Stan appeared in the “Future Ready Leaders” video series as Indian Prairie was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in 2015.As principal, Stan led Crone Middle School to a National Blue Ribbon Award. As a teacher, Stan was recognized as Most Influential Staff Member by the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation. In addition, he was a recipient of the Chicagoland Outstanding Music Educator Award and published an article in School Band and Orchestra Magazine.Stan holds undergraduate degrees from Joliet Junior College and the University of Illinois and a Masters degree from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. In addition, he received his administrative credentials by attending North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. Stan is a certified evaluator of Principals and Teachers as designated by the Illinois State Board of Education. He is also a past member of the School District 308 Board of Education which serves Oswego, Illinois.
